Connecting to Campus Wi-Fi as a Student

Welcome! This guide will help you connect to the campus Wi-Fi network, ensuring that you stay connected and have access to all the online resources you need. The instructions are tailored for Windows, macOS, and other devices.

By following these steps, you can quickly and easily connect to the campus Wi-Fi network from any of your devices. Staying connected on campus will ensure you have access to important resources and can stay in touch with classmates and instructors. If you encounter any issues, feel free to reach out to the campus IT support for assistance.

Steps for Connecting on Windows 10/11:

  1. Open Wi-Fi Settings:

    • Click on the Wi-Fi icon in the system tray at the bottom right of your screen.
    • A list of available networks will appear.

  2. Select the Campus Network:

    • Look for the network named Student-GFC.
    • Click on it and then click the ConnectÌý²ú³Ü³Ù³Ù´Ç²Ô.

  3. Enter Your Credentials:

    • When prompted, enter your NetID (e.g., a12b345).
    • Use the same password that you use for Canvas and MyMSU At ºÚÁÏÍø911.
    • °ä±ô¾±³¦°ìÌýOKÌý´Ç°ùÌýConnect.

  4. Complete the Connection:

    • After a few moments, you should be connected to the Student-GFCÌý²Ô±ð³Ù·É´Ç°ù°ì.
    • You may see a prompt asking if you want to set the network as public or private. Select Private if you’re on your personal device.

Steps for Connecting on macOS:

  1. Open Wi-Fi Settings:

    • Click on the Wi-Fi icon in the upper-right corner of your screen.
    • A list of available networks will appear.

  2. Select the Campus Network:

    • Look for the network named Student-GFC.
    • Click on it to connect.

  3. Enter Your Credentials:

    • A login prompt will appear. Enter your NetID (e.g., a12b345).
    • Use the same password that you use for Canvas and MyMSU At ºÚÁÏÍø911.
    • °ä±ô¾±³¦°ìÌýJoin.

  4. Verify Connection:

    • After a short moment, you should be connected to the Student-GFCÌý²Ô±ð³Ù·É´Ç°ù°ì.
    • The Wi-Fi icon should show a strong signal, indicating a successful connection.

Generic Steps for Other Devices:

  1. Access Wi-Fi Settings:

    • Open the Wi-Fi settings on your device. This may be in the settings menu or accessible from a drop-down menu depending on your device.

  2. Select the Campus Network:

    • Look for the network named Student-GFC.
    • Tap or click on it to connect.

  3. Enter Your Credentials:

    • When prompted, enter your NetID (e.g., a12b345).
    • Use the same password that you use for Canvas and MyMSU At ºÚÁÏÍø911.
    • Confirm by tapping or clicking Connect or Join.

  4. Complete the Connection:

    • Your device should now be connected to the Student-GFC network.
