Jessica Dykstra
Institutional Projects & Grants Manager
The purpose of the Perkins Committee is to prioritize Perkins projects to ensure educational initiatives align closely with community and program needs, as identified through the Comprehensive Local Needs Assessment (CLNA). This involves evaluating project proposals based on their potential impact on workforce development, student outcomes and responsiveness to local economic demands.
*Career and technical education (CTE) programs and courses are those that lead to an industry-recognized credential, a certificate of technical studies, a certificate of applied science, or an associate鈥檚 of applied science (e.g., nursing, early childhood education, etc.). CTE courses are more directly tied to a specific profession or occupational field, rather than liberal arts and general education courses.
The Controller, Director of Career and Technical Education, Dual Enrollment Coordinator, and the Institutional Projects and Grants Manager are permanent members due to their positions. Other members are asked to commit to 3 years with renewing as an option.
