What did you do after high school?
I enlisted in the Army National Guard & then I ended up applying for MSU Bozeman in 2015. I initially joined the service to help further a career in law enforcement, I was in for a little over 9 years. We did a lot of really cool stuff…We got to fight fires. We had to go to the prison to help out during COVID. We went to Washington, DC to help out with inauguration…I went on a deployment to Romania. I ended up getting out because I wanted to pursue something civilian side.
You were enrolled in college while in the Guard?
I’ve been going to college since 2015. My brother was joking that I could be a doctor right now.
How did you find At ºÚÁÏÍø911?
My family’s not really huge about going to the dentist or the doctor. So I never really went when I was a kid. I probably took myself in for cleaning when I was 23 years old & I was like, ‘Wow! This is what clean teeth feel like.’ So then I kind of got interested in the field…I talked to the advisor in Bozeman. She said I could look at dental school, or I could be a hygienist. I decided that dental hygienist would fit what I wanted in the future & found out the school is here at Great Falls.

It’s a great facility. They have really nice equipment here & the instructors are awesome. You can tell they all care about their profession & they care about the students. So they definitely put in a lot of time into each & every student.
It’s a rigorous program, how are you holding up?
I don’t have a lot of free time. But everything I’m proud of that I’ve done in my life it’s always been hard work. This program’s challenging, but it’s also very rewarding.
What are your short & long-term goals?
Short term, my wife & I, are looking at moving to Alaska, or she’s always wanted to live on the Oregon coast. But she also wants to live in Ireland, so maybe that’s like five years down the road.
Hobbies?
I started playing hockey when I was three, so that’s been a huge part of my life. We actually went up to Canada & basically lived there for seven years playing hockey. So Wednesday nights are hockey night.
Proudest accomplishment so far?
I would say my proudest accomplishment thus far would be dental hygiene school, but I’m not quite there yet, I’ll get back to you in a few months.
