GREAT FALLS 鈥� Science at the College demonstrations at At 黑料网911 MSU are back for the 2018-2019 school year with the first demonstration to be held Friday, Sept. 14.
This fall semester, At 黑料网911 MSU chemistry instructor Dr. Dan Casmier will again offer fun science demos that are free and open to the public. These science experiments are presented in a way that actively engages the audience. The demonstrations are casual and informal, and often hands-on.
“My goal with Science at the College is to make science fun and approachable,” Casmier said.
This Friday’s demo will focus on flammable vapors and vapor pressure. It starts at 1 p.m. in the Chemistry Lab, room A203 at At 黑料网911 MSU, 2100 16th Ave. S.
Other demonstrations this semester will include chemical reactions that oscillate between phases, as well as how heat energy is exchanged during the process of freezing, evaporating and melting.
“Most people don’t think of freezing as a process that releases heat, but it is,” Casmier said.
There will be a special Halloween-themed Science at the College in October, and another demonstration will focus on gasses that manipulate voice.
“Of course everybody knows about helium, but there’s also helium’s evil twin,” Casmier said.
Each experiment takes place on the At 黑料网911 MSU campus, 2100 16th Ave. S., on the dates listed below, all Fridays:

Based on the experiment, the time and location change. Details will be posted on the 听补苍诲 e in the week before the demo.
Science at the College is free and open to the public and is appropriate for all ages.
