Heath Voy, former president of the Associated Students of At 黑料网911, continues shining at the University of Montana.

Voy recently earned a couple of prestigious honors, including a Critical Language Scholarship through the Department of State. He will travel to Kyrgyzstan this summer to study Russian as part of the program.

鈥淢y favorite thing is working with people and finding solutions to the things they鈥檙e struggling with. I think this experience will be a good opportunity because I want to work in diplomacy, and I think this is the perfect path for me to get there,鈥 he told the University of Montana.

The scholarship is a highly competitive program that provides fully funded, intensive language and cultural immersion experiences designed to prepare students for global careers.

Voy also is one of two finalists from Montana institutions for a Truman Scholarship. The Truman Foundation鈥檚 Finalist Selection Committee selected 198 students from 136 institutions all over the United States to interview with a regional review panel. The foundation received 781 applications from 305 institutions. Last yar, the Truman Foundation named 54 Truman scholars.

He should find out soon whether he receives a Truman Scholarship.

Voy earned an associate of science degree聽at聽Great聽Falls College because he knew he could save money, work in his family鈥檚 dental office and receive a quality education,鈥 he told us in an interview a few years ago.

鈥淚’m able to save money and still get a quality education and take things at my own pace while preparing myself for the next steps for my bachelor鈥檚 program,鈥 he said.
