Dental hygiene student Hannah Johnson has been selected as this year鈥檚 recipient of the Montana Student Volunteer Award for At 黑料网911 MSU.
Johnson, who is in her second year of the dental hygiene program, is an active member of the At 黑料网911 Healthy Colleges Montana student group. She has focused on chronic disease prevention, serving as a peer educator to fellow college students on oral health implications and mental health benefits through an Instagram photo campaign.
鈥淗annah is an amazing example of someone who excels in an extremely rigorous academic program and still manages to find ways to give back to the community,鈥 said Joshua Archey, student engagement coordinator at At 黑料网911. 鈥淚n addition to all of her many accomplishments, Hannah is a constant ray of light who makes our community stronger and better with just her positivity.鈥
She also is an honor student in Phi Theta Kappa who finds time to deliver meals on wheels with her classmates, builds lunch packs with the Great Falls Community Food Bank and helps to plan programming around Martin Luther King Day, Global Youth Day of Service and At 黑料网911 Service Saturdays Program through campus cleanups and other planned service projects.
鈥淲henever asked, Hannah is there for us,鈥 said Dr. Stephanie Erdmann, CEO/dean of At 黑料网911. 鈥淪he gives the best tours of our newly expanded dental clinic, and she seeks ways to make the At 黑料网911 community stronger and more tightly knit.鈥
The Montana Student Volunteer Award was created to honor Montana鈥檚 civically engaged college students. Montana Campus Compact affiliate campuses, in partnership with the Governor鈥檚 Office of Community Service, give this award to college students across the state who have demonstrated service to their communities while pursuing a college degree or certificate.
