Surgical technologists are key members of the surgical team, working under a surgeon’s supervision to ensure safe and effective invasive procedures. They maintain a safe operating room, ensure equipment functions properly and maximize patient safety during operations. You can take At ºÚÁÏÍø911’s program on campus in Great Falls or as part of the OneMSU Network with Gallatin College in Bozeman or City College in Billings.

Graduates are prepared to:

  • Work as part of a surgical team providing care to patients.
  • Operate under the supervision of a surgeon during invasive procedures.
  • Ensure the operating room environment is safe.
  • Verify surgical equipment functions properly.
  • Maximize patient safety during surgical procedures.
  • Apply sterile and aseptic techniques effectively.
  • Use knowledge of human anatomy and surgical procedures.
  • Implement and manage surgical tools and technologies.
  • Perform under pressure in stressful and emergency situations.
  • Anticipate the needs of surgeons in dynamic environments.
